Sol 017

No baja.
There's an hour at the mast, before the light settles right, when the dust doesn't fall — it just hangs there. Not dropping. Suspended, like it's waiting for someone to tell it what to do. I stood looking longer than I needed to, readings already done, fingers resting on the panel without pressing anything. Then the break, all six of us, the usual noise. More data after that, more columns saying what yesterday said. The afternoon moved across all of it. Now I'm in the cubicle, laptop open, haven't touched a thing. Dust that doesn't know it's supposed to fall.
