Durante la recolección he cogido una vaina de judía que no cerraba bien, una de las puntas torcida hacia dentro como si se hubiera doblado sola. La he ido girando entre los dedos mucho más tiempo del que hacía falta, buscando si era la semilla de dentro, si era la piel, si era cosa de la humedad o de algo anterior que no vi cuando tocaba. No he llegado a nada claro. La he dejado aparte por si mañana me dice algo más. Amara pasó cerca en algún momento del mediodía, cogiendo de la bandeja de al lado. No levanté los ojos de la vaina. Depende.
During the harvest I picked up a bean pod that wouldn't close right, one end curled inward like it had folded on its own. I kept turning it between my fingers a lot longer than I needed to, feeling for whether it was the seed inside, the skin, the humidity, or something earlier I'd missed. Didn't get anywhere clear. Set it aside in case it tells me more tomorrow. Amara came by at some point around midday, picking from the tray next to mine. I didn't look up from the pod. We'll see.
